From Europe or elsewhere → Karpathos

In summer, you’ll also find seasonal charter flights from select European cities and elsewhere directly to Karpathos. Availability varies by month (roughly May–October).

How to get to Karpathos

Reaching Karpathos Island (AOK) is easy by plane from Athens or by ferry from Athens (Piraeus) and nearby islands like Rhodes, Crete (Sitia/Heraklion) and Kasos. Once on the island, it’s a ~20-minute drive from Karpathos Airport (AOK) or ~15 minutes from Pigadia (Karpathos) Port to the villa.

By Ferry

From Athens (Piraeus) → Karpathos

Blue Star Ferries run several weekly sailings (seasonal variations apply). Routes typically call at Santorini, Anafi, Crete (Heraklion/Sitia), Kasos, Karpathos (Pigadia/Diafani), Chalki, Rhodes—great for island-hopping. Check live dates before booking.

From Rhodes → Karpathos

Regular ferries connect Rhodes with

Karpathos in roughly 3–4 hours (season-dependent).

From Crete → Karpathos

Sailings from Sitia (and at times Heraklion) link Crete to Karpathos; the Sitia crossing is usually ~3–5 hours depending on the vessel/season.

From nearby islands (for combos)

Easy combinations include Kasos, Chalki, Santorini (Thira) and Anafi. Check current sailings and ports (Pigadia vs. Diafani) before you lock plans.

Locals Tip: Karpathos has two ports - Pigadia (main, south) and Diafani (north). Most travelers to Amoopi will prefer Pigadia arrivals.
